The client requested a device that would quickly review paper receipt tapes from retail cash registers. Low development cost and unit price point were key issues. We looked at several mechanical drive systems and chose the simplest, most reliable design. The product was later modified to accommodate electric motors and automated controls. PDS handled all design, development and assembly line production issues. Patent pending.
